Abstract
According to the damage survey and analysis for the single-story reinforced concrete industrial buildings located in Jiangyou,Chengdu,Pengzhou and Mianyang in Sichuan Province,Tianshui in Gansu Province, and Hanzhong in Shanxi Province, the following conclusions are derived: first, the main structures of reinforced concrete buildings designed according to the Seismic Code received minor damage;non-structural components, especially the end bays in the longitudinal direction, high gables, the cantilevered walls between two span with different height and the connection between huge device and foundation, suffered relatively serious damage;third, the structures without standard design according to the Seismic Code,as well as the old industrial buildings without consolidation were damaged severely.Thereby, the seismic design for non-structural components and huge devices should be emphasized. Moreover, the old industrial buildings that used to be designed without following the Seismic Code should be retroffited as soon as possible.
