Abstract
The ZY-3remote sensing images made in China in 2013and the SPOT-5images in 2004are selected for the study of the remote sensing monitoring of coastal erosion along the coastal segment between Longkou and Zhifu. The spatial distributions of the coastal erosion along this segment in the last 9years are given, and the disaster features of the coastal erosion are discussed from the following four aspects:coastal erosion rate, beach width erosion modulus, land area loss and coastal erosion intensity. The results show that:1)Nine segments along the coast between Longkou and Zhifu suffered from erosion from 2004to 2013.All of them belong to a straight sandy coastline and are located respectively in the Longkou Donghai tourism resort, the Longkou Dongzhuang village, the Penglai Xiaozao village and the western and eastern sides of the Taozi Bay;2) In period of nine years, the eroded coastal segments are 2.2m/a in the average erosion rate,7.38%in the average beach width erosion modulus and totally 91 879m2 in the land loss caused by the erosion;3)The information about the coastal erosion intensities is given based on the erosion rate and the width erosion modulus. The erosion intensities based on the erosion rate belong to mostly a moderate erosion and a strong erosion,of which the Longkou Dongzhuang beach is a serious erosion, whereas those based on the erosion width modulus belong to mostly a strong erosion,of which the beach at Penglai Xiaozao village is a serious erosion.
