Abstract

[Objective]The paper aimed to study the changes law of the Starch Phosphorylase Activity in the Other Section of Kernel except Embryo(OSK) of Micro-endosperm Maize during Kernel Development.[Method]With the Gaoyou115 maize as contrast, the Changes law of the starch phosphorylase activity in the other section of kernel except embryo(OSK) of MEM(micro - endosperm maize) were measured.[Result] The starch phosphorylase activity of the OSK of MEM was reached to the maximum during 21 -28 days after pollination. And the maximum starch phosphorylase activity of the OSK of MEM was very significant higher than those of Gaoyou115 maize. Moreover, the maximum starch phosphorylase activity of the OSK of different MEM was very significant different. The significant negative correlation between the average or maximum starch phosphorylase activity and the starch weight of single kernel during harvesting in maize OSK was found by simple correlation analysis.[Conclusion] The degradation of starch in MEM OSK became quickly because of the very higher starch phosphorylase activity,so the starch content of MEM OSK during harvesting was very significant lower than those of Gaoyou115.
