Ordovician turbidite and its potential in gold exploration in Heilongjiang Province

Occurrence and features of turbidite in the Heilongjiang Province are discussed by examining those in the Duobaoshan-Handaqi area,and compared to the host rocks of typical trubidite-type gold deposits in abroad.It is suggested that the region was an Early Paleozoic foldbelt between the Siberian and Sino-Korean plates,and the areas Xinglong of Huma and Handaqi of Heihe were either intra-or back-arc basins,in which Ordovician turbidite was well developed and shows typical characterizations of the turbidite-type gold deposits as host rock.The listed examples of gold deposits in the province indicate that the Ordovician turbidite is great potential in this area for further gold exploration.
