On Zhao Bingwen’s Benevolent Politics Thought

Abstract

After the arrangement of Zhao Bingwen’s political thought embodied in his work Fu Shui Collection and the study done by using the method of historical document analysis and relevant theories of his central political thought, namelybenevolent, the author concludes that the main point of his thought is political practice which takes Daoism complementary neo-Confucianism as the theoretical basis. There are four aspects in his thought, to respect god and love people and to cultivate oneself with sincere heart, to make a clear distinction between right and wrong and to use the wise and employ the capable man, to take the history as a mirror and Chun Qiu as an example to guide ones behavior and not to relax ones vigilance while living in peace and to cope with the time. The essence of his thought is an elite management mode centering on patriotism. Although it has its historical limitation, it helps to promote social stability and economic development. And Zhao Bingwen’s benevolent politics thought has obvious ideological tendency
