Abstract
Mao Zedong’s contribution to building a socialist harmonious society can be summarized into six aspects. Firstly, he described the primary outlooks to define the characteristics of a harmonious society; secondly, he created the supporting platform for the construction of a harmonious society; thirdly, he established the fundamental methods to guide the construction of a harmonious society; fourthly, he put forward several guidelines to direct construction of a harmonious society; fifth, he pointed out the subjective force to promote construction of a harmonious society; and finally, he clarified the keys to realizing the objective of a harmonious society.
