Abstract
Finite element method(FEM) has been widely used in vehicle structure design, the frontal rigid-wall crashworthiness of a simple-structured bumper is analyzed by the nonlinear FEM software LS-DYNA,and an important conclusion is reached;Meanwhile, analyses based on the crash law are also launched, including some changes of the structure; Finally the bumper's weight is reduced while in accordance with the crash law.
