Abstract

A new chelating resin was synthesized using glucosamine and polystyrene as material, the infrared spectra and contents of chlorine were detected. The adsorption for boron was studied by using the chelating properties of glucosamine toward boron. The temperature and time of chelating resin for boron adsorption were studied. It was also measured the adsorption isotherms of boron adsorption at different temperature, and the adsorption mechanism and capacity was discussed according to the relationship of thermodynamic function. The results showed that the resin exhibited high adsorption for boron, higher temperatures was favorable to adsorption, this reaction was an exothermic reaction,ΔG was less than 0,and the adsorption process could be spontaneous.
