Abstract
Incremental sheet forming is a new type of flexible manufacturing technology for sheet metal parts. Compared with ordinary incremental forming, pressure point incremental forming can improve product quality to a certain extent.Thickness variation, strain and local stress state of the sheet in the ordinary and pressure point incremental forming were compared by numerical simulation. The deformation mode and the deformation characteristics of different positions for sheet metal were analyzed in the incremental forming. It can guide rational design of pressure point incremental forming process to ensure the smooth progress of the incremental forming.
