Abstract

BeiJing the first of its kind in China, the bus rapid transit system (BRT system) on the South Axial Road in Beijing serves as a demonstration project for Beijing and for the whole country as well. The BRT route runs from Qianmen to Demaozhuang in Beijing, with a length of 16km and a total of 16 stations along the line. Equipped with all-closed exclusive bus lane, specially-designed vehicles, closed platforms and advanced intelligent system, the BRT route is capable of providing the passengers with convenient and rapid transport.
