Abstract

Objective To compare the effects of Sufentanil and Fentanyl on elderly patients with hypertension in terms of stress response during the tracheal intubation. Methods 32 cases of lower abdominal surgery patients were randomly divided into two groups, namely, sufentanil group and fentanyl group, each having 16 cases.During the anesthesia induction, the two groups were given sufentanil and fentanyl respectively.Observations were made on Systolic Blood Pressure(SBP),Diastolic Blood Pressure(DBP),Heart Rate(HR),the concentration of Norepinephrine(NE) and Epinephrine(E) of patients in the two groups before induction, before intubation, immediately after induction and 3 minutes after intubation. Results The SBP and DBP immediately after tracheal intubation and 3 minutes after in the sufentanil group were significantly lower than those in the fentanyl group. There were also significant differences in NE and E of the patients in the two groups. Conclusion It is more effective to apply Sufentanil to the anesthesia induction of elderly patients with hypertension to inhibit stress response during tracheal intubation.
