Abstract
One of the most important decisions in designing a database system is the selection of views to materialize.A cost model of materialized viewisgiven in this paper. Materializedview selectionalgorithm usinggeneticrules are presented. The experimental study shows that the algorithm has better solutions and high efficiency.
