Diagnosis and Analysis of Ureteral Stones by Color Doppler Ultrasonography(Report of 240 cases)

Objective To investigate the value of color Doppler in the diagnosis of ureteral stones.Method 240 cases of ureteral stones confirmed by the clinical evidence were examined by color Doppler from Jan.2008 to Dec.2010,and the data were analyzed retrospectively.There were 158 male patients and 82 females with an average age of 42.Results 222 cases were diagnosed with an accurate rate of 92.5%.There were 92 upper ureteral stones,and missed diagnosis were 4 cases;47 middle and 6 missed;65 lower and 8 missed.There were 8 cases with ureteral stones located ipsilaterally on two segments or more;bilateral stones were 6 cases;and 5 cases were near the J catheter.The diameter of the stones was 4～25 mm with a mean of 8mm.Conclusions Color Doppler can display clearly the ureteral stones with the characteristics of economy,effectiveness and convenience,and can provide more accurate information for the clinical diagnosis and treatment.However,some special types need more attentions.
