Abstract
Objective: To observe the therapeutic effects of cefadroxil in treating acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis. Methods: 130 children who suffered from acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis were randomly divided into two groups: the treatment group of 65 cases, and the control group with the rest. Applied cefadroxil 30 mg/(kg·d) to the treatment group. The control group was given amoxycillin 40 mg/(kg·d). Results: The marked effects of the treatment group and the control group were 32. 3% and 16. 9 % (x2 = 4. 15, P 0. 05) respectively, the total effective rates of the two group were 81.5% and 55. 4% (x2 = 10.3, P0. 01). Conclusion: Cefadroxil was effective in treating acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis.
