Abstract
Objective: To provide anatomic data of hepatic veins for right lobe partial transplantation. Methods: The courses, distribution and typing of hepatic veins were observed on 52 corrosion casts, The rate of forming a common trunk both the left hepatic vein and the right hepatic vein, the number, the dim ension of short hepatic veins and the relationship of them with type of the righ t hepatic vein were also explored. Results: The rates of type A, type B and type C of hepatic veins were 65.4%, 26.9%, and 7.7% respectively. There was a common trunk in 67.3% of the cases. The occurrence rate of short hepatic veins was 32. 6%. The distance from the point of the right hepatic vein opening into inferior vena cava to the point of middle hepatic vein opening into inferior vena cava or the left hepatic vein was no longer than 2.0 cm in 80.7% of cases. Conclusions : The results provide hepatic veins anatomy for right lobe partial liver transpl antation. It may be more suitable for Chinese to employ right lobe partial liver transplantation.
