Clinical effect of the protection veins ointment on preventing chemotherapy phlebitis

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the veins on preventing chemotherapy phlebitis.Methods:85 cases were randomly divided into observation group 45 cases and control group of 40 patients.Two groups of age,gender,tumor stage,disease duration,number of previous chemotherapy was no significant difference,according to the disease are the same chemotherapy regimen.Observed before and after administration of chemotherapy to protection veins ointment outside the rub prevention,control group with 50% magnesium sulfate topical.Evaluated the phlebitis occurrence after end of chemotherapy.Results:Observation group of 45 patients,25 patients(55.56%) did not occur phlebitis,one level phlebitis 18 cases(40.00%),and two level phlebitis 2 cases(4.44%),no three level phlebitis.Control group of 40 cases,9 cases(22.50%) did not occur phlebitis,one level phlebitis 15 cases(37.50%),two level phlebitis 12 cases(30.00%),and three level phlebitis 4 cases(10.00%).The difference between two groups was statistically significant(P0.01).Conclusion:Protection veins ointment can significantly reduce the incidence of chemotherapy phlebitis.
