Abstract

The academic circles of overseas Chinese literature have recently manifested a tendency to change its focus from overseas Chinese literature to Chinese literature.This paper tries to reflect on the academic phenomenon,and discusses two important issues,namely,ethnic identity and Chinese writing.While acknowledging the reasonableness of the change,the paper also analyses its limitations with the hope to help the research of overseas Chinese literature.
