Abstract
Glycerol of different concentrations were used to pretreat red blood cells(RBCs) for their freeze-drying.The samples were frozen and dried using PVP,sucrose,FBS and citrate sodium. Then, the dried samples were rehydrated with(30 g/L) NaCl and tested by Coulter Particle Analyzer and standard light microscopy. The results showed that the recovery of RBCs after glycerol pretreatment is significantly higher than that without pretreatment. The best effect was obtained when pretreated by 400 g/L glycerol with which the recovery is up to 51.4%.
