Clinical Observation of 20 cases of Cervical Spondylosis of the nerve root type treated with Acupuncture on Tongbi Point

Objective: To observe clinical effectiveness of acupuncture on Tongbi point for the treatment of cervical spondylosis of nerve root type. Methods: Twenty patients with cervical spondylosis of nerve root type is given with the primary treatment of acupuncture on Tongbi for treatment courses,and followed up for two months. Results: All patients experienced immediate symptom relief,12 cases were cured and the other 8 cases of improvement after treatment. The two-month follow-up showed no relapse. Conclusion: Acupuncture can instantly improve the neck muscles in patients with cervical spondylosis of nerve root type of stiffness,tension,relieve patients' pain and numbness symptoms. These effects appear to last at least two months after the treatment was completed,suggesting long term benefit in addition to instant pain relief.
