Abstract
Objective:To study effect of procyanidin on expression of Nuclear Transcription Factor p65(NF-κB p65) and cerebral infarction volume following cerebral ischemic reperfusion injury in rats. Methods:In this experiment, rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, which were sham operated group,I/R group, low procyanidin treated group and high procyanidin treated group. The focal middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) model was made by suture-occluded method. After 90min MCAO following 24h of reperfusion, expression of NF-κB p65 was investigated with imunohistochemistry.TTC staining was also investigated. Results: ①Compared with sham operated group, the translocation of NF-κBp65 from cytoplasm to nucleus increased significantly at 24h of reperfusion in the frontal and parietal cortex(P0.05).Compared with I/R group, low and high procyanidin treated group dose-dependently reduced expression of NF-κBp65.(all P0.05).②Compared with that of I/R group, cerebral infarction volume of low and high dose procyanidin treated group was decreased dose-dependently(all P0.05).Conclusion:Procyanidin may reduced cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injure by reduced expression of NF-κBp65.
