Abstract

The chrysanthemum is the celebrated work of Jonh Steinbeck.It is one of the most outstanding short stories in the world.From the perspective of Freudian psychoanalysis,to analyze the heroine's personality structure and self-defense mechanism,we can find that the heroine is a tragedy character with romantic tender feelings and top sufferings.
