Abstract
It is found that I - is oxidized by iodate in a H 2SO 4 medium, and I - 3 is tripled as a result. But, I - 3 has the maximum absorption at the wavelength of 288 nm, and the apparent molar absorptivity obtained at this wavelength is 1.3×10 5L·mol -1 ·cm -1 . So the sensitivity is enhanced. The study also suggests that in the range of 0~60μg/100mL the concentrations of iodate fit Beer's law.
