Abstract
The catalytic microelectrolysis/UASB process was used to treat wastewater from carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC) production. The effect of pH,reaction time, temperature and hydraulic retention time on the removal rate of COD was investigated. The results show that under the conditions of raw wastewater pH of 3.5,reaction time of 75 min,UASB temperature of 37 ℃ and HRT of 44 h,the COD concentration can be reduced from 20 000 mg/L in the influent to 1 200 mg/L in the effluent. The process lays a foundation for the subsequent aerobic treatment.
