On the Systematic Characteristic of Hume's Philosophy

Hume's philosophy system embodies the unity of empiricism, scepticism and naturalism which interpenetrate one another. Based on empiricism, Hume completes the transition from the sceptical argument about the existence of external objects to the naturalistic explanation and sceptical criticism on the belief in the existence of external objects, which reveals the conciliatory characteristic of Hume's philosophy. Scepticism and naturalism have the same importance in Hume's philosophy system, so viewing Hume as a sceptic or a naturalist loses the essence of Hume' philosophy.
