GENETIC CORRELATION ANALYSIS AND PRINCIPAL COMPONENT ANALYSIS OF CHARACTERS IN INBRED LINES

Abstract

Plant character of 110 inbreds were studied through genetic correlation analysis and principal components analysis. The results show that ear weight, kernel number, ear length, ear diameter, 100 kernels weight, plant height, height of ear location and rate of kernel have high significant positive correlation with yield per plant. It indicates that the more ear weight, more rows of ear, longer ear length, longer ear diameter, more 100 kernel weight, higher plant heihgt, higher height of of ear location and more rate of kernel inbred lines has, the more yied per plant in general; rows of ear, stem diameter, branch number of tassel, length of tassel, period of duration have no significant correlation with yied per plant. this indicate that these chacracters have little effect to yield per plant, they may be selected according to needs of the breeding and cultivating practice. On the base of above, according to the index of principal components,some inbred lines with high yield were selected from 110 inbred lines.
