Abstract

OBJECTIVE To study the distribution and drug resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii(ABA) and to provide guidance for clinical medication.METHODS The character of infection and drug resistance of 520 ABA strains isolated from clinical wards from Jan 2006 to Dec 2008,were analyzed retrospectively. The drug resistance was analyzed by disk diffusion(K-B) method.RESULTS A total of 520 cases of ABA were isolated, sputum was the mainly specimen from which ABA were isolated,ABA was mainly isolated from ICU.The antibiotic susceptibility testing showed that the drug resistance rates of ABA to imipenem(4.8%-21.1%) and meropenem(5.6%-28.4%) were the lowest, followed by cefoperazone/sulbactam(12.8%-34.4%).CONCLUSION The drug resistance rate of ABA has ascending tendency. It is important to strengthen the clinical monitoring and the rational use of antibiotics.
