Frozen-heave Character Study of Artificial Frozen-Clay

Abstract

Frozen method has more and more been used in mine construction, The influence of frost heave on construction should not be ignored. and it is very necessary to study the frost heave. With the use of the frost heave instrument made by ourselves and according to the result of experiment,the frost heave character of different qualitive clay and same kind of sand -clay soil under different moisture capacity at different stratum depth in Huai Nan and Huai Bei are compared and analyzed. It is concluded that the frost heave force becomes little with the decrease of stratum depth, and so dose the frost heave percentage The study of the frost heave character of the same kind of sand -clay soil under different moisture capacity come to the conclusion that the frost heave percentage become big when the moisture capacity increases ,especially when the moisture capacity is more than liquid limit the frost heave increment become more greater .It is of much value to the application of engineering.
