Clinical Effect of Xuebijing Injection on Pro/Anti-inflammatory Balance in Sepsis Patients

Objective To observe the clinical effect of Xuebijing Injection on pro/anti-inflammatory balance in sepsis patients.Methods According to recruitment criterions,21 patients with severe sepsis and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome from October,2009 to October,2010 in emergency intensive care unit were divided randomly into treatment group and control group.Patients in the treatment group were combined with Xuebijing injection(100 mL Q12 h),and patients in the control group were combined with Sodium Chloride injection(100 mL Q12 h).The immune state,biochemical indicator,scores of APACHEⅡ and case-fatality rate at 28th day before treatment and seventh day in the course of treatment were recorded.Results After treatment,the serum levels of TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-6/ IL-10 ratio of patients in two groups were decreased,and the decrease in the treatment group was more significant than control group(P0.05).The levels of CD3+T(%),CD4+T(%),CD4+/ CD8+T were increased in two groups.The IL-6/IL-10 ratio(on 7th,10th day)of treatment group was higer than control group(P0.05).Two group's IL-10 level was increased on 3rd day,the treatment group's was decreased on 7th and 10th day,and compared to control group was decreased significantly(P0.01).The treatment group's CD3+T(%)(on 7th,10th day),CD4+T(%)(on 7th,10th day)and CD4+/CD8+T ratio(on 7th,10th day)compared to control group was increased significantly(P0.05).But the CD8+T(%)had no significant difference between two groups(P0.05).Activity of NK cells in treatment group was increased on 3rd and 7th day,and control group's decreased on 7th day,the treatment group compared to control group was increased significantly(P0.05)on 3rd,7th and 10th day;The scores of APACHEⅡon 7th day and case-fatality rate on 28th day of treatment group compared to control group was decreased significantly(P0.05).Conclusion Xuebijing injection can two-way regulate inflammation response and improve the autoimmunity.
