Abstract
Objective The aim of the study was to compare the Helicobacter pylori treatment regimens among the patients attending the out-patient clinic in our hospital. Methods 522 patients diagnosed as Helicobacter pylori infection were recruited and received Helicobacter pylori eradicative therapy from January 2005 to July 2007 in the clinic,121 patients were administered with proton pump inhibitor(PPI)+ clarithromycin + nitroimidazole,135 patients with PPI + clarithromycin + amoxicillin,80 patients with PPI + nitroimidazole + amoxicillin,63 patients with ranitidine bismuth citrate(RBC)+ clarithromycin + nitroimidazole,81 patients with RBC + clarithromycin + amoxicillin, and 42 patients with RBC + nitroimidazole + amoxicillin, respectively. Results Among PPI groups, the eradicative rate in PPI + clarithromycin +amoxicillin group was significantly higher than that in PPI + clarithromycin+nitroimidazole group, and no significant difference was found between PPI + clarithromycin +amoxicillin group and PPI + nitroimidazole + amoxicillin group.Among RBC groups, the eradicative rate in RBC+ clarithromycin + amoxicillin group was the highest. When antibiotic used in the regimens was the same, there was no significant difference between PPI and RBC.Conclustion PPI or RBC+clarithromycin+amoxicillin were better regimens in eradication of Helicobacter pylori.
