Abstract
Based on the routine weather data and CINRAD Doppler radar echo,we analyzed the strong rain during 8—9 October 2008 in the Western South-Xinjiang.Under the favorable circulation field, local convective rain converted to mixed rainfall. The heavy rain resulted from middle-scale convention development in the combined rain echo.It was characterized by small range, high intensity, and active middle-scale rain mass.Combined reflectivity factor reflected the process of small to mid scale development.Radial velocity refelected air current change and anti-wind area.Wind profile described the development of wind direction and speed of different layer.
