The Current Situation of Sports Development and Countermeasure Research in Small Towns in Shanxi Province

By using the method of modern society investigation, this article investigates the current situation of sports development in 272 small towns from 11 districts in Shanxi province. The result shows that the construction of living facilities are laid stress on, but sports foundation facilities are ignored in the process of building and developing of small towns. The existing sports facilities can not meet the need of citizens participating in physical exercise. The town enterprises do not exert their function that should bring into play in the developing process. The source of finance for developing sports in small towns is come from the investment of government and collection of society. Most of small town thinks that the money spending on sports activity is litter or none. Based on it, the author puts out the some countermeasures on sports development in small towns.
