Abstract
Constitution of the People's Republic of China of 1954 was the first officially made constitution in China.It originated from The Common Program of Political Consultative Conference of PRC and laid foundation for the Constitution of 1982.Constitution of 1954 was influenced by Mao Tse-tung's thought of constitution and of great significance during the transition period in New China as national debates over it had been made and people's basic rights were listed separately.The exact understanding and good command of the features of the Constitution will be beneficial to further explore the present constitutional system,establish constitutional and political cultures,and popularize the contents of China's Constitution as well.
