Acupoint Selection Laws of Acupuncture in Treating Hyperthyroidism

Abstract

This paper retrieved and analyzed the literature concerning the clinical treatment of hyperthyroidism by acupuncture in the past 25 years, and found that the acupoint selection had certain laws, though the treatment methods varied. Results: Total 49 acupoints were used, mainly on stomach meridian, spleen meridian, kidney meridian, liver meridian and pericardium meridian; the frequent acupoints were Zusanli (ST 36), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Jianshi (PC 5) and Shuitu (ST 10).
