Abstract

This paper describes different characteristics of traction motor for freight electric locomotive and pas-senger electric locomotive.Advanced is the solve project of designing traction motor for AC drive electric locomo tive at speed of120km/h.And the necessity about developing alterable frequency AC traction motor for freight electric loco-motive is also put forward.
