Abstract

A TRIP steel was prepared by controlling cooling after hot rolling . The results of tensile tests indicated that the mechanical properties of experimental TRIP steels held tensile strength of 605 MPa,yield strength of 440 MPa, and high elongation of 28. 4 %. The microstructure of the steel was studied by OP, SEM and TEM. The results indicated that the microstructure was composed with ferrite, bainite and retained austenite. The results of quantitative colour metallography showed that retained austenite fraction around 5.6 % .
