Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of callosotomy on reducing plantar pressure of patient with diabetic foot.MethodsThirty-nine patients with zero level diabetic foot were selected in two Shanghai communities from October 2008 to January 2009.Callosotomies were done on 72 feet.Plantar pressure was measured by FootScan plantar pressure analyzer made in Switzerland before and after treatment.ResultsThe total plantar pressure,total impulse,partial pressure were declined(P0.05),but the partial impulse decline was not significant(P0.05).ConclusionRemoval of diabetic foot callosities could reduce the total plantar pressure,total impulse,and it may be important to prevent the development of diabetic foot ulcer.
