Abstract
The passive film was formed by the techniques of chromium free passivation developed by the authors. The pitting corrosion resistance of passive film on stainless steel 316L was studied with the potentiodynamic method and chemical immersion method. The results showed that the pitting potential increased obviously after a chromium free reagent Wb being added into the passivation solution of 35% HNO 3.
