The paper proposes to adopt traffic simulation for regional transportation control system,achieving transportation operation evaluation,traffic demand management and regional traffic guidance.The paper describes the regional transportation system framework and collaborative optimization hierarchy of the control systems.The traffic simulation applications in system are described in detail.The systems can contribute to promoting the effectiveness of traffic operation,easing traffic congestion and improving road safety level.
