Abstract

DNAs were extracted from the young leaves of the sugarcane hybrid lianghe 78/121 and its parents Huanan 65/12 and Yancheng 58/74. The PCR conditions suitable for RAPD (random amplified polymorphic DNA) analysis of sugarcane were investigated. Of the 115 arbitrary primers used, 74 were polymorphic. The three primers of OPR - 17, OPK - 17 and OPR - 18 were shown to be able to identify hybrids of sugarcane.
