Abstract

Objective To explore the dynamic expression and clinical significance of programmed death 1( PD-1) on CD8+T cells in patients with acute and chronic hepatitis B. Methods Peripheral blood of acute and chronic hepatitis B patients before and after therapy were collected and serum ALT,HBV DNA load and PD-1 expression on CD8+T cells were detected. The dynamic expression of PD-1 on CD8+T cells and its correlationship with ALT and HBV DNA load were analyzed. Results Compared with healthy group, both of the onset AHB and CHB patients had much higher PD-1 expression on peripheral CD8 + T cells( P 0. 01),which was significantly down-regulated after therapy when ALT returned to normal( P 0. 05),but PD-1 didn 't down-regulated so much in CHB group as AHB group. Significant positive correlation was found between PD-1 expression and ALT( r = 0. 378,P = 0. 0395),but not HBV DNA( r = 0. 0468,P =0. 809) in AHB patients. Oppositely,in CHB patients there were significant positive correlation between PD-1 expression and HBV DNA( r = 0. 441,P = 0. 0148) but not ALT( r = 0. 135,P = 0. 477). Conclusion The expression of PD-1 on CD8+T cells in AHB and CHB patients were both upregulated. The upregulation of PD-1 expressed on CD8+T cells in AHB patients was closely related to liver impairments, but in CHB patients,it was related to the serum titers of hepatitis B virus.
