Abstract

Several turbine blades and the air vent valve(BV)cracked in a service aero-engine.The fracture mode of cracked accessories is confirmed by on-site observation, metallographic structure examination, fracture analysis, and mechanism analysis. It comes to a conclusion that the primary reason for the turbine component over-temperature-fracture is the air vent valve(BV)fatigue fracture. In addition, suggestions are made on the basis.
