Analysis of Weight Growth Curves in Tibetan Pig

The Tibetan pig breed is one of the Chinese indigenous breeds,which mainly distributes around on Tibet-Qing Plateau.In present study,nonlinear growth curves were fitted using logistic,Gompertz,and Richards models and growth patterns were analyzed in Tibet and Chenghua pigs.The results showed that the equations of logistic,Gompertz,and Richards could all fitted the weight growth of Tibet pigs,especially the Richards was most superior and the Gompertz followed.With 71.91 kg fitted by the Richards in final weight,9.45 months in inflection point,and 180.0 g in maximal daily gain,the Tibet an pigs had the characteristics of little weight,low growth rate,and late inflection point,etc.
