Abstract
The construction at Henglongshan tunnel bell mouth section was proven extremely difficult due to the forbidding geological condition and large span of tunnel. This paper presents the dynamic analogue on the whole process of excavation of large-span tunnel by the finite element method, simulating the whole process of heading in excavating two rock walls of tunnel and analyzing the settlement of wall rock and ground surface during the tunnel construction. The problems worthy attention and the relevant resolution in the large-span tunnel construction are put forward based on the results of simulation calculation.
