Abstract

Objective:To observe the therapeutic efficacy of combination of smecta and P.O.Bifidobigen in treatment of infantile diarrhea.Methods:132 cases with infantile diarrhea were collected randomly. 70 cases were treated with combination of smecta and P.O.Bifidobigen, while 62 cases were treated with smecta alone.Results:82 cases(62.5%) showed an obvious efficacy;40 cases (30.3%) did effective;10 cases(7.6%)showed no effective. The total effective rate was 92.4%. For infectious and symptomatic diarrhea, there was not difference of effective rates between the two therapies. For digestive dysfunction and chronic diarrhea accomplished with malnutrition, just the combination of the two drugs showed efficacy. Conclusion: For infantile diarrhea, the combination of smecta and P.O.Bifidobigen can result in efficacy in addition to controlling its causes.
