Manifesting the ambiguous beauty of ancient Chinese poem in Chinese-English Translation-A case study of "Jin Se" by Li Shang yin

Having an implying meaning beyond the words,the language of ancient Chinese poetry is ambiguous.Poetry is difficult to translate,and it is even more difficult for translators to render ancient Chinese poems into English,due to this ambiguous beauty.This paper examines three English versions of the famous Chinese poemJin Se,and analyzes how to convey the ambiguous beauty with scientifically accurate English language in Chinese-English poetry translation,then points out that the translator ought to maintain the artistic conception and temperament of the original poem grasp the essence and forget the dross in poetry translation.On the basis of the above analysis,the author also discusses briefly the relationship between translation and recreation.
