Study on Sports Spectator Violence in Europe

Abstract
The spectator violence in sports has accompanied with football. Not only the UK is the originator in modern football, but also is the earliest traditional birthplace of sports spectator violence and football hooliganism. The spectator violence in sports, which has been spread in the UK and other European countries from 1960, has been paid close attention to and researched by many scholars. The paper firstly introduces the brief history of sports spectator violence in Europe, and then emphasizes on the research work and main theories of sports spectator violence in the UK. In addition, the situation of sports spectator violence in the other European countries is also given. The results will provide a reference for further studying of the sports spectator violence in China in the future.
