Abstract

This paper discusses college English teaching reform from the following three aspects.First,it reveals the basic causes of college English teaching reform from social development,enrollment expansion at colleges and universities,and the present situation of college English teaching.Second,it analyzes the main trends of the reform in view of teaching aims,patterns and evaluation standards.Finally,it puts forward important measures for college English teaching reform in the reshaping of teaching ideas,further training of teachers and larger investment.
