Abstract
Based on the observational data of near surface ozone and meteorological factor in northern suburb of Nanjing, the variation characteristics of ozone and relationship with meteorological factor were analyzed. The results showed that daily average ozone concentrations were 65.8 μg·m3. Peak ozone concentrations in Nanjing often appear about 15:00 in the early afternoon. Daily maximum and minimum values were observed spring and winter, respectively. Ozone formation presented the phenomenon of weekend effect. Ozone concentrations in daytime in weekdays were a little higher than weekends, but little difference in night. Temperature, sunshine duration and precipitation had significant effect on ozone. The high ozone levels in May perhaps due to the long sunshine duration and little rainfall during this period. The distant transport associated with southern winds contributed substantially to the ozone levels. Regression equations of daily average ozone(r=0.61) and daily maximum ozone(r=0.71) concentrations showed significant correlation with meteorological factor, respectively.
