Abstract
Taking a shallow-draft ship as the subject, the ship resistance performance with the free surface is analyzed based on the STAR-CCM+ platform. The calculating results agree well with the conclusions drawn from the deep-water experimental data. Considering the shallow water of the real course, the paper compares the difference of the resistance in the deep water and the shallow water. It analyzes the change of the total resistance and the relative component resistance in the shallow water, as well as the impact of the shallow water on the wave-making. It provides reference for the design of new ship type and the selection of main engine.
