Clinical analysis of traumatic flail chest 40 cases

Objective To explore the rescue experience and clinical features of the traumatic flail chest.Methods The data of 40 patients with traumatic flail chest were retrospectively analyzed.Results The patients except for 1 patient with infection due to severe lung injury died ARDS of outside the hospital within a week,39 patients were cured,length of stay 7~28d,an average of 18.7d.Conclusions Flail chest,while paying attention to fixtion,active treatment of pulmonary contusion,can prevent respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) incidence and improve the treatment success rate.
